Walking by Faith, Not by Sight:

Walking by Faith, Not by Sight:

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” – 2 Corinthians 5:7 (ESV)

One of the most powerful principles of the Christian faith is the idea of walking by faith. This may seem simple, but it’s one of the most challenging and rewarding practices we can embrace in our daily lives. To walk by faith means to trust in God’s promises and His plan, even when we can’t see the full picture.

As humans, we often rely on what we can see and understand. We place our trust in tangible things like our jobs, relationships, and health. However, the Bible calls us to walk by faith, which requires us to trust in what we can’t see. It’s a radical kind of trust—one that relies on God’s character, His Word, and His faithfulness rather than on what we can control or understand.

A woman named Sarah learned this truth during a time of personal hardship. Sarah had been trying to conceive for many years, but after countless doctor visits, treatments, and prayers, there was no sign of a child on the way. Each month brought disappointment, and each failed attempt made her wonder if it would ever happen.

Sarah’s faith began to waver. She prayed, but doubt started to creep in. She found herself thinking, “If I can’t see it happening, maybe it’s just not meant to be.” But deep down, she knew that God had a plan for her life—whether it included children or not.

Then one day, as she was reflecting on her struggle, God led her to the verse in 2 Corinthians 5:7: “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” God gently reminded her that faith isn’t about seeing the end result before it happens. Faith is about trusting God’s ability to work in and through us, even when the circumstances are unclear.

With renewed determination, Sarah decided to take a step of faith. She chose to believe that God’s timing was perfect, and that whether or not she ever became a mother, He was with her every step of the way. Sarah continued to trust, to hope, and to walk by faith.

Eventually, Sarah did become a mother. But even more than that, she learned that the journey of faith was just as important as the destination. It wasn’t the child she had longed for that fulfilled her; it was the deeper trust in God and the strength she gained through the waiting process. She discovered that walking by faith meant learning to surrender control and trust in God’s perfect plan, no matter the outcome.

In our lives, we face many situations where we are asked to walk by faith. It could be a new job, a move to a new city, or a relationship that’s taking a long time to heal. When we walk by faith, we step out in obedience, even when we don’t have all the answers. Walking by faith means saying, “I trust that God is in control. I trust that He has a purpose for my life, and even though I can’t see it all right now, I will continue to trust Him.”

It’s easy to walk by sight when everything makes sense and life is predictable. But God calls us to walk by faith when we’re faced with the unknown. Faith means trusting that God’s plan is better than our own, even when we can’t see the path clearly.

So today, take a step of faith. Trust that God’s timing is perfect, His plan is good, and His love for you is unshakable. Walk by faith, not by sight, and watch as He leads you into greater blessings than you can imagine.

Confession:

I choose to walk by faith, not by sight. I trust God’s plan for my life, even when I cannot see the full picture. I believe that His timing is perfect, and His purposes for me are good. I surrender my doubts and trust in His faithfulness. In Jesus’ name, Amen!”🙏
