The power of praise
”Let the people praise thee, O God; Let all the people praise thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase; And God, even our own God, shall bless us. God shall bless us, and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.“- Psalm 67:5-7 KJV.
Praise is powerful. It is capable of provoking blessings and thwarting the devil’s advances.
Whenever praise goes forth, God shows up. Psalm 22:3 shows us that God inhabits the praises of His people and hates murmuring and complaining.
We can see the power of praise in the story of Paul and Silas. Amid the confines of a prison, their praises triggered an earthquake that shook the foundation of the prison. Their chains shattered, and the prison doors flung open (Acts 16:25-34). From their story, we can see the capability of praise to pull down the strongest holds and open shut doors. No problem is too big for Praise to handle. It’s like a powerful weapon.
David praised a lot, and he never lost a fight. Praise isn’t just words; it’s like a superpower that changes everything around us. The Bible says, “Let everything that has breathes praise the Lord” (Psalm 150:6). It means everyone should praise because it’s so good and can make things better.
Praise also helped the Israelites in a big fight. When they praised, the strong walls of Jericho fell down, and they won (Joshua 6:1-21). This shows that praise isn’t just saying words; it’s like a special force that
can break down big barriers and bring success. Jesus liked it when children praised Him, showing that anyone, no matter their age, can praise (Matthew
21:16). Paul, who wrote parts of the Bible, told people to always be happy, pray, and say thanks—that’s
praising (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).
Praise is not only in the old stories but also in the New Testament. Jesus liked it when children praised Him, showing that anyone, no matter their age, can praise ( Matthew 21:16). Why not develop praise as a lifestyle, knowing it can make everything better and bring God closer to you?
