THE GRACE OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST
2 Corinthians 13:14- The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.
The coming of Jesus Christ made available Grace to all human kind. This Grace, was in the Old Testament very scarce and only enjoyed by very few people throughout the Old Testament; Noah (Genesis 6:8), Zerubbabel (Zechariah 4:7), Moses (Exodus 33:17). Grace, as seen from these three men, can be defined as that which saves or exempts from destruction, that which empowers for victory over situations and the key to receiving from God.
The coming of Jesus, however, made Grace available to you and I (John 1:17). It is this grace that empowers us to live above sin. According to Romans 6:14, by the Grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, we have dominion over Sin. As a believer in Christ Jesus, there is no sin that should dominate our lives. Whenever we see a sign of sin having dominion, we can go to the Lord and receive grace to help in such times of need (Hebrews 4:16).
To enjoy this grace made available by Jesus, you must first accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour (Romans 10:9) because it is only from Him we can receive Grace (John 1:16), by the Revelation of Jesus Christ, Grace is brought to us all (1 Peter 1:13), we are justified by Grace (Romans 3:24) and we are saved and can only be saved by the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ (Titus 2:11, 2 Timothy 1:9, Acts 15:11).
To be who God has destined you to be, you need the Grace of God just as the Apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 15:10 “But by the grace of God, I am what I am…” and by the Grace of Jesus, you are empowered to live a life worthy of God’s calling upon you. No matter the situation you might be going through or how tough, challenging or difficult it might look like, by the Grace of Jesus, you are able to overcome them and shout for victory because His grace is sufficient for you (2 Corinthians 2:19, Zechariah 4:7).
The Grace of Jesus has also given you victory over poverty. Therefore, as a believer, you are not expected to be poor because Jesus Christ became poor so that you can be rich. 2 Corinthians 12:9 states that “For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that ye through His poverty might be rich.” You cannot be poor!
