Serving God Pays The Most
”There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfil. I will send my fear before thee, and will destroy all the people to whom thou shalt come, and I will make all thine enemies turn their backs unto thee.“- Exodus 23:26-27 KJV
Oh wow! What a package God has delivered into our hands. Oh, what a revelation! If you desire long life, health, prosperity, and posterity, God is saying that the key to all of these is SERVING HIM. The labourers are few, so God can not afford to lose you when you serve Him. His heart merries when you serve him.
The scripture is filled with men and women who dedicated their lives to serving God and saw how God decorated them. We saw these in the life of Nehemiah, He rebuilt the wall of Jerusalem, and God granted him Favour in the sight of the king (Nehemiah 2:5). David was a man after God’s heart because he loved God with passion and served Him zealously (Psalm 69:9).
The sacrificial giving of the woman with the alabaster box imprinted her story in the Bible forever (Matthew 26:6-13). Jesus Christ, our saviour, lived a life of service. He laid aside His majesty for service. His death on the cross is the ultimate expression of servant leadership. And we saw how God has highly exalted his name above every other name (Phillippians 2:9-11).
Serving God is not a gift. It is a choice (Joshua 24:15). Serving God is the greatest enterprise to enter into (Job 36:11). It involves lots of sacrifices to serve God. However, and whatever these sacrifices are, they must stem from a clear, sincere, and willing heart. Remember, His word rules your life, so in service, His will becomes your will (Luke 22:42).
People will talk, mock, and ridicule you. They will say you are doing too much. Let them say whatever they want to say. Fix your eyes on Jesus, not looking back and keep serving Him (Luke 9:62). No serious football player listens to the noise of the spectators on the pitch, for his eyes are fixed on the ball and anxiously waiting to score goals. Let them keep mocking you while God keeps making you.

I have chosen to serve Jesus and I’m not looking back. I will not look back like Lot’s wife. I don’t care about what people say about me, how they mock and ridicule me, while Jesus makes me.
My service to God must speak for me. I will not be tired, I will not be weary nor discouraged by the help of the Holy Spirit. This is my confession in Jesus name. Amen.
