Renewing Your Mind
Verse:
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what Godโs will isโHis good, pleasing and perfect will.”
โ Romans 12:2 (NIV)
Our minds are powerful, but they can also become cluttered with fear, negativity, and lies if weโre not careful. Paulโs words in Romans 12:2 remind us that true transformation starts in our minds. When we allow Godโs Word to reshape our thinking, we begin to live in alignment with His will and purpose.
Imagine your mind like a garden. If you donโt pull out weeds regularly, they will overrun it, choking out the good plants. In the same way, if we donโt address harmful thoughtsโsuch as self-doubt, worry, or bitternessโthey can take over, making it harder to see Godโs truth.
Let me share Sarahโs story. Sarah was a young woman who constantly struggled with insecurity. She would compare herself to others, thinking she wasnโt good enough. These thoughts held her back from stepping into opportunities, whether at work or in relationships. One day, after hearing a sermon about renewing your mind, she decided to take action.
Sarah began spending time each morning reading the Bible and meditating on verses about her identity in Christ. She memorised scriptures like, โI am fearfully and wonderfully madeโ (Psalm 139:14) and โGod has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mindโ (2 Timothy 1:7). She also started journaling to track her negative thoughts and replace them with truths from Godโs Word.
At first, it was challengingโthose negative patterns didnโt disappear overnight. But as Sarah stayed consistent, she noticed a shift. She became more confident, less anxious, and even found the courage to lead a project at work. Her life didnโt change by chance but by intentionally renewing her mind with Godโs truth.
Renewing your mind doesnโt happen automatically; it requires daily effort. It means guarding your thoughts, rejecting lies, and choosing to focus on what God says about you. Itโs not about ignoring lifeโs challenges but allowing Godโs truth to shape how you respond to them.

True transformation starts from our mind when we allow the word of God to reshape our thinking.
It doesnโt happen overnight, you need to be intentional about it; studying Godโs word more frequently, memorizing the word, applying the word to your everyday life, speaking the word of God to negative situations you experience etc. Godโs word is sharper than any two edged sword and can pierce anything. Thank you Pastor for this. Renewing our mind through Christ takes faith and obedience to His word. The world is full of distractions and problems that can lead us astray. Pressures from work colleagues or friends to conform to the ‘norm’, leading us away from Gods word and the salvation we have in Christ.
We need to block out the wordly distractions, and focus on Jesus His word. The enemy is very cleaver, he will time his attacks when we are weak, struggling financially or looking for work. He will distract us from Gods word. He can even make us ‘too busy’ with work and shifts to deceive us that we are doing the right thing.
We need to be intentional. Make time to speak with your maker. Make time to read the devotionals and meditate on His word. Make time to worship and thank God for His goodness. When we do this, our minds will be fully renewed and ready to tackle the issues of life.
I pray heavenly Father, that the weeds of my mind will be uprooted and destroyed, that they will be replaced by Your Spirit, Word and the wisdom in Your Word. That my family and I minds will be fully renewed and un cluttered in Jesus mighty name. Amen

FOR IT WILL GO FORTH TO ACCOMPLISH WHAT GOD HAS SENT IT TO DO IN MY LIFE. HIS PLAN FOR ME IS FOR GOOD AND NOT TO HURT ME, TO GIVE ME A HOPE AND A FUTURE.
GOD HAS GIVEN ME A MIND OF POWER, LOVE AND VERY SOUND. HALLELUJAH GLORY BE TO GOD MOST HIGH.
WE NEED TO RENEW OUR MINDS DAILY BY THE WORD OF GOD. PAPA ALWAYS SAYS WE CAN’T BE A PART-TIME CHRIST, FIGHTING A FULL- TIME devil.
