FORGIVENESS, THE NON-NEGOTIABLE ACT
[13] bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do ~ Colossians 3:13 NKJV
The Lord presents the topic of forgiveness in His word as non-negotiable; as you can see, in the scripture above, God uses the word ‘must’ in relation to this. Sometimes, we believe we have a right to hold unforgiveness in our hearts against someone who we may feel has done something ‘unforgiveable’ towards us.
Are you asking – “But Pastor Enoch, how many times must I keep forgiving this sister/brother? She/He just keeps on hurting me!”. Peter asked Jesus the same question in Matthew 18 v 21, Jesus responded with a parable that must have blown Peter’s mind (Matthew 18 v 22-35). If we choose not to forgive others, our Father in heaven will choose not to forgive us. Forgiveness is non-negotiable.
I want you to take a minute and think about the atrocities that were committed against Jesus Christ… He was lied against, spat on, beaten, whipped, denied, and betrayed by those closest to Him, hated without a cause, yet He still forgave. In taking His last breaths, He still saw the opportunity to utter the words ‘Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do’ (Luke 23 v 34).
You do not forgive once you are healed, you forgive during the pain of the betrayal, the heartache, and the sorrow – so that you can be healed. Ephesians 4 v 32 encourages us to be kind-hearted towards each other and to forgive each other as Christ also forgave us. Are you harbouring bitterness, anger, hurt, malice, and offence in your heart? Make today the day that you let go, set yourself free from the bondage of unforgiveness, and allow God to heal you. Forgiveness is non-negotiable.

YOU DO NOT FORGIVE ONCE YOU ARE HEALED, YOU FORGIVE DURING THE PAIN OF THE BETRAYAL, THE HEARTACHE, AND THE SORROW – SO THAT YOU CAN BE HEALED.
HALLELUJAH GLORY BE TO GOD ALMIGHTY JEHOVAH WHO HAVE FORGIVEN ALL MY SINS AND INIQUITIES.
THANK YOU ABBA FATHER FOR HEALING AS I MADE UP MY MIND TO FORGIVE ALL THOSE WHO DONE ME WRONG. BY ACTING UPON YOUR WORD THAT I NEED TO FORGIVE AND MY HEALING WILL COME IN THE MIST OF MY FORGIVING.

As we wax stronger in Christ, we find it difficult to keep unforgiveness in our hearts, as it becomes an unnecessary weight that seems to be holding us back from what is destined before us. But with Christ we have the power to let go of all unforgiveness, bitterness, and malice. Therefore, I live a life of forgiveness and freedom; just as I have been forgiven and I am set free in and through Jesus Christ.

Unforgiveness will replace the fruits of the spirit, it only provokes negative thinking and negative emotions, such as; bitterness, anger, resentment etc. We can not be filled with the Spirit of God, if we have those emotions in us.
Forgiving is not easy, but we must release our heart feom that pain, we must be able to love again.
Plus, it is a mandate from God Himself, we will not be forgiven if we do not forgive. That is very powerful, our ever loving and merciful God will not forgive us if we do not forgive, that shows us the magnitude in which God sees this issue. It should.not be taken lightly.
When you truly forgive, you can actually feel the burden be lifted, you feel liberated and free again. Unforgiveness is like a shackle on your spirit, keeping it surpressed.
I pray Lord that i am able to forgive all whom have trespassed against me, all who have hurt me, so that my spirit is un burdened, in Jesus mighty name.
