”Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.“- Matthew 5:5 KJV
This profound text above, from the book of Matthew 5:5, emphasizes the virtue of meekness. God testified of Moses that he was very meek above all men on earth in his time (Numbers 12:3). The exaltation of Moses by God testifies to the significance of meekness, a virtue that deserves our earnest pursuit.
Meekness is a virtue we must all crave. I see most people crave for power and anointing but neglect the fruits of the spirit. They like the flows, not the lifestyle. What they don’t know is that nothing preserves destiny like character(the fruits of the spirit).
Power and anointing can take you to the top, but it takes character to maintain the top. This is where many charismatic Christians are missing it.
What is meekness? Meekness is the quality of being patient, quiet, and submissive. Moses started his journey as a meek man. But after several encounters with God, he allowed anger to limit him. This is what is happening to many Christians today. They used to be submissive to their pastor, leaders, and spiritual guardians. They took to instructions and corrections, but after some encounters with the anointing, they neglect the virtue of meekness and allow pride set in. This attitude has led to many downfalls and abrupt ends.
The cautionary lesson here is clear– Anointing without meekness will lead to destruction. No matter your level of success in your spiritual journey and life in general, ensure you always crave to be meek. Yearning and chasing meekness complement the pursuit of Holy Ghost power and anointing.
If you want the topmost top and desire to stay atop, the only way to do it is to be meek. The promise in Psalm 2:8 is only for the meek.
The meek, as divinely declared, shall inherit the earth. That is, they will have dominion and shall flourish here on earth. So, if you want to be at the top and rule, make sure to be meek. This way, you’ll unlock the special promise mentioned and secure a lasting and impactful position.
As you crave for the Holyghost power and the anointing, ensure you crave more to be meek.
